Developing Competency: Furthering Activities
- Preventative and Responsive Services - (specifically in risk assessment and in crisis response)
- Family-School Collaboration Services - (specifically educating the school community regarding the influence of family involvement on school achievement)
- Diversity in Development and Learning - (assessment & interventions for ethnic populations)
It is expected that during the internship the remaining two areas of need will be addressed and updates will be provided as learning activities are completed.
Brief Outline of Professional Development Plans for 2013
Attend the NASP annual convention (February 12-15, 2013).
Attend the BCASP conference (date to be announced).
Complete PRAXIS training and preparation.
Pursue further training in suicide risk assessment (provided local opportunities)
Complete my internship and MEd program.
Complete PRAXIS exam & become certified school psychologist with BCASP.
Obtain full-time employment as a school psychologist in BC.
Pursue a PsyD program and CPA certification.
Obtain training in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule - 2nd edition, & the Autism Diagnostic Interview - Revised
Explore opportunities in community and interagency settings (team framework).
